Sports injuries to the foot and ankle are exceedingly common. We understand that a sports specific approach is needed to assessing, treating and preventing injury.
Ryan James completed a Bachelor of Podiatry degree at the University of Newcastle (2009). He has also graduated with honours in health science (2011) with a research paper on custom made foot orthoses for the treatment of foot pain. Ryan is a Level 2 Sports Trainer (2014), and is a member of Sports Medicine Australia and affiliate member of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons. Ryan is currently studying a Masters in Public Health through the University of Newcastle.
Ryan has worked previously in private practice in Sydney and Hunter New England area before moving back to Port Macquarie where he grew up. He established Ryan James Podiatry in 2011 which has now expanded to five locations in the mid north coast region. Ryan has worked with the University of Newcastle as a university tutor for podiatric pharmacology. Currently Ryan regularly takes Podiatry and Medical students from the University of Newcastle, University of Western Sydney and University of New South Wales and is a part of the GP training programme at the Port GP Super Clinic.
Ryan James has a special interest in Sports Podiatry including lower limb biomechanics, custom orthoses and regenerative medicine.
